Defining the Business Card Experience

A lot of entrepreneurs and business people focus on creating the ultimate customer experience for their respective businesses through their service and products. But creating a customer experience is not only confined in the location of the business, the product sold, or even the service delivered after purchase. The customer experience actually begins at the point when the customer hears about product, sees an advertisement or holds your business cards.

Creating an unforgettable business card experience for potential customers is challenging and fun at the same time. It requires a little research on what best triggers the attention – is it through visual, sound, touch, etc. This little research will be the center of the creative design concepts to be developed. But usually, the sense of touch is the first and most attention grabbing. Business card designers tend to exploit this by veering away from the typical solid square shaped and paper cards. The popular ones are those with jagged edges, cut out designs, and unconventional materials such as wood, metal, plastic, etc.

The key is to associate the business card experience with what the business really do. An example would be a dentist whose business card is designed by embossed teeth set or a key maker whose business card has the shape of a real key. There is no limit on being creative with business cards; rather it is a unique promotional opportunity that businesses should greatly take advantage of.
